WCA.08.KL - Day 1

It was a gloomy morning when we arrived at Xtreme Park in Bukit Jalil, site of the WCA 2008. It had rained earlier in the morning, but had tapered of about 0500. The field looks good (better then in 2006, but hey, its just the first day :) ). By 0700, the teams have started to arrived. Team banners and flags were put up, the vendor tents have slowly started to be alive. The first games started early. Ahh..was a perfect morning..

Then...there was power failure which affected the air and delayed the games about 1.5 hours, the power came up after the repairs and the games got underway. Games were intensed with lots of D2 and D3 teams actions. D1 were to play their games on Saturday. There were a lot of discounts at the vendor stations, Dye Proto, Eclipse, MacDevs and others. By end of the day, about 1600, the sky were assembled with storm clouds and the rain fell later in the evening.

We liked to think that we'd played well on the first day, winning 9 out of 11 games that we played. We would also like to thank our crews, Ayie, Wilson (thnx for the pix) and Mike (hope the toothache is gone) for helping us out there. <- pix by dezmond
Oh...i also managed to get to play a game using the new Eclipse GEO (thanx Big Bro, heh heh), the handling felt good, the marker had the accuracy and consistency....wish i could get it..hmmmm.

I went to visit the vendors today to find some parts for my trusty PMR, The Tech from Dye was gracious enuff to replace the PMRs battery harness and also got some good discounts from them. Thanx guys. I would advice paintballers to take the opportunity to visit and get them to look at your markers.

For super Sunday's second round, Team Killer Beez would be pitched against the following teams;

We will make sure we perform our best and fight till the end.

MPOC Series 2008

On 26Nov08, at the Johor Bahru’s MPOC5, Team Killer Beez was confirmed as the 2008 MPOC’s Division 2 Series Champion. Congratulations guys, we've done good but we could be better. We need to work and train harder to face next year's challenges. We’ve diligently participated in all possible legs of the D2 MPOC series all over the country. Not forgetting the feeder series in between the major tournaments
In all the 4 legs of the D2 series, the Team qualified for the finals. As champions of one of the legs, the team won free registration to the WCA2008, together with teams SPECTRE, IMMORTALZ and WERDNA ESCORT. Killer Beez would like to record our appreciation to the other D2 teams like CMX, Assassin X, the teams from PPSC, BioShock and others for the challenges.
Our utmost appreciation also to our families and friends who somehow managed to understand our passion for the game, allowing us to go for trainings and tournaments and sacrificing our time with them.
We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to the Sponsors and corporate supporters, IsiRimba, Napshot Paintball, Propaintball, KCHL, Skirmish for the boxes of paints, discounts and other material support. Xperiencing XFox

The week before MPOC5 in JB, An opportunity to play with Team XFox materialized, Redza of XFox called to ask if I would be interested to play for XFox in JB. Ok..XFox is asking if I’m interested play with them…hmmmm…I’ve always wanted to play with them in a tournament to see how it’s like... We have played them before…but that’s another story. This was an excellent opportunity - so I confirmed with Redza and there I was….waking up early on a purrrfect Saturday early morning to catch the AirAsia flight to JB. The Foxes left KL @ 0600 almost the same time I took the cab to LCCT from the house. By the time I arrived at Senai at about 0915 and called up the guys, they were already at Dataran JB looking at the fields. Apparently traffic on the NS Highway was very lite…or so I was told.
Our first game on day 1 was at 1100 against Teams XMenz, to be followed by isiRimba and CMX. XFox won the matches against IsiRimba and CMX and took a set out of XMenz. Day 2 was tougher, with Raskal and Demonz Red. XFoxes managed to take a set out of Demonz. Our 3 and 4th placing game was against Raskal. We fought hard, but Raskal’s firepower prevailed. Team XFox was ranked 4th in the tourney and for the overall 2008 Series.
One thing I learned from playing in D1 is that there cannot be margin for error at all, you’ve gotta enhanced your skills and speed, to be perfect in your strategy, postings/positioning and accuracy. If you don’t take the other guy out, He/She will take you out.
I would like to thank the team members for this tourney, Redza, Ereeq, Jakes (Original), Jakes (Khairul), Didie, ALI, Awe and Zed for the opportunity to play with you guys. Hope I didn’t disappoint too much. Thanks again for the experience and the pleasure of playing with Team XFox. Pain is Temporary – Pride is Forever
